Kota Kinabalu International (BKI) takes direct flights from across the region, and the city centre is close to the airport. It’s the natural hub for the whole of Sabah. March to September is the drier window and the best time for the islands and diving. Prices and crowds both climb over public holidays, so flexible dates genuinely pay off.
